此炉精铜所铸，精炼压手，展现出清代盛世仿古鼎彝器物的崭新风貌。唇口，颈部稍束，两侧对饰冲天朝冠耳，耳洞作门型，其势微微外撇。器身作长方圆角形，边角转折圆融，腹部四面满工，各浮雕兽面纹，颇具立体感，福下承接四兽足。
纵观本品，古韵浓郁，但其尺寸竟未及三寸，为琴炉也，然其气势恢宏，方寸之地，纹饰精妙之至，为明代文房仿古器佳品。琴炉，顾名思义就是专为文人抚琴时使用而设计的小型香炉，琴炉的出现是为了营造抚琴时的氛围，也有计时之用。
