香盘呈六瓣海棠式，浅腹平底，盘底四边有随形矮足。底部髹黑漆，余部髹朱漆，色泽浓郁鲜艳，其上满雕工，外壁剔刻八瓣方形菱花锦地纹样，内壁分层装饰，下层为细密的回字锦纹，四面海棠形开光，内为六角形龟背锦纹，盘心随形开光内衬有回字不到头纹样，转折明朗，与器身相宜，开光内亦为龟背锦纹，与内壁相呼应，布局考究，尽显乾隆一朝剔红工艺的高贵气质。精美的一件清乾隆 剔红锦纹海棠式盘”收藏于故宫博物院，可供参考。
同时期此类香盘深受皇帝喜爱，宫廷御瓷中亦可见仿剔红器物，是乾隆官窑创烧的新品种。见中国嘉德2023年6月11日，编号3247，“清乾隆 珊瑚红釉仿剔红锦纹海棠形茶盘”，成交价RMB 368,000。
