在藏传佛教中，金刚亥母为噶举派女性本尊之首，上师相应法也以金刚亥母为本尊而起修，是玛尔巴、米拉日巴的秘密本尊。修行金刚亥母法可净除烦恼，显俱生智；调柔气脉，证无死果；降伏魔仇，摄十法界的功德。此尊金刚亥母一面二臂，头戴骷髅冠，坠大耳铛。三目圆睁，相容秀美，威而不忿。头部右侧伸野猪头，这是金刚亥母的形象标识，表示战胜愚痴。上躯袒露，纤腰袅娜，双乳丰圆，曲线曼妙玲珑。胸前佩戴璎珞，项挂五十个新鲜头颅蔓饰。右手高挚钺刀，左手于胸前托盛满鲜血的嘎巴拉。呈舞立姿，右足弯曲悬空，一茎莲花承托主尊右膝，以起到支撑像身的作用，可谓匠心独运。左足踏仰莲台座的人尸之上，台座上缘饰有连珠纹，莲瓣排列规整。此尊金刚亥母像头饰、四肢钏环、胸前腰间璎珞均刻划精致。整像金水丰满，造型生动，具有喀尔喀蒙古造像风格的艺术特点。
