AN ‘IMITATION MALACHITE’ GLASS BRUSHPOT, BITONG, XUANTONG MARK AND PERIODChina, 1908-1912. Of circular form supported on a flat base, with thick walls and therefore quite resilient overall. The turquoise glass with swirls of lighter and darker hue, cleverly imitating malachite, which itself is not suitable for making a brush pot, because of its rather fragile and porous nature.
