此案小器大样，形近于木质家具中的翘头案，翘头、壸门牙板、如意牙头备具，而尺寸较小，可置于案头、榻上，用以盛放香具、文玩之品，颇为清雅。
整器漆制，面修朱漆，底髹黑漆，整器表面皆以朱色、黑色彩漆为饰，兼用阴刻勾勒边线。案面四边开光内绘双龙赶珠，内铺菱格锦为地，正中如意形开光内绘云中立龙，小案看面亦满铺卐字锦地。此小案纹样颇具明末彩漆器之风格，而形制亦为书斋陈设所用，是颇具文人风雅的小件漆质家具。
