明清时期德化窑生产的白瓷香炉形制多样，且其制品胎、釉浑然一体，瓷质致密、色泽光润明亮，作为祭祀礼器、宗教法器或案头赏玩器盛行一时，此炉即为一例。
炉造型古朴，从其细微之处可看出其做工的用心。口沿略加外翻，颈部微微内收继而圆出，腹部垂鼓。两只龙耳线条劲挺，口沿下水平而出，弯曲有度，尾端有微微翘起之势，厚重而不失灵巧，显得颇为典雅。德化炉在中国陶瓷史上具有重要的地位，可与明代宣德炉相媲美。此炉以明代宣德炉中的蚰耳炉为“母本”加以创作，属于香炉中的经典样式。白釉光润，纯净清雅，不仅具有宣德炉的气质精神，又有陶瓷材质的温和与柔美。
