砚滴作虎形，头部圆厚，双目斜闭，两耳翘立，眉髯立体，宽吻突出，口部微张，脊背凸起，健韧有力，前肢撑地，后腿蜷缩伏地，长尾前甩贴于左腿。姿态温驯，口部有注孔，背部蕉叶状开孔，腹内中空以贮水。此虎形砚滴尺寸不大，可置于手中，压缩了四肢比例，增加头身比，身形极其饱满，显憨态可掬之相，经久远传承，器身包浆厚重，古色古香，即若去其砚滴之功用，亦不失为案头清供美品。
