此件白玉代代封侯，精择和田白玉琢成，玉质紧致细腻，脂白温润，呈现半透明状。此作浮雕一只饱满圆鼓布袋，两只灵猴分别攀附在布袋上、下两端，注目窥看或伸手试探眼前盛开的花朵，灵猴面部扁平，圆眼凸嘴，刻画富有肌肉感，额部仅以阴线刻写，双耳突起，四肢刻画具体，身姿矫健，十足活泼顽皮之貌。布袋上并浅浮雕数朵葵花，盛开绽放，富于生气，神态把握准确，形象生动。猴与侯谐音，寓意封侯赐爵；而袋、猴的组合谐音即为“代代封侯”，寓意世代都能封侯进爵；灵猴探花，意谓着士子高中榜首。古代人们多藉由此种隐喻或象征性的纹饰、图像，来表达此类难以言说的祝祷和愿望，是清代玉配饰精品之作。
