The Collection of Mary Ann Frederica Harrison
Mary Ann Frederica Harrison was born in London on 13 April 1838, the seventh of eight children. After her marriage in 1876 to thriving tea merchant, Thomas Thomas, Mary went to live in, Canton, China and gave birth to two children there. In the late 1800s, Mary and her husband returned permanently to London, where Thomas died in 1892.
Mary had a keen interest in painting, particularly using oils and pastels, and her artistic, nature is evident in the attractive items from her collection now offered here for sale.
