此件玉羊采用和阗青花玉籽料圆雕而成，玉质致密温润，局部带绺，有红褐色沁。羊作跪卧状，抬头平视，神态安详。双角弯曲贴于脑后，双耳并于角内侧，阴线刻饰三角形眼及口鼻。颈部极短，身体圆浑，臀部微翘，四肢贴卧于腹下，腿较短，显得玉羊十分肥硕。胸、背、腿及身体两侧以平行的短阴刻线表现羊毛，羊尾粗短。整件器物造型简洁，雕琢技法精湛凝练，强调突出羊的圆润和安静，表现出玉羊的内在美感，具有浓郁的中古时期特征。
