It is slightly convex in profile and there is a fine hairline fracture running horizontally and centrally through the composition. The paint layer is stable and secure and in a good preserved state. Fine details to the face are very well preserved and the skillful and energetic application of the paint is evident. U-V light shows slight augmentation of the more thinly painted areas to the lower right quadrant, along the horizontal fracture and to a 1cm wide strip along the top edge.
