Christian Dior Haute Couture Silver Taffeta Coat, Autumn/Winter 1988-89This piece was shown in Marc Bohan`s penultimate collection for Dior, which featured dramatic volume, rich embroideries, and sumptuous furs. Bohan was awarded the prestigious Golden Thimble award for best haute couture collection this season.  The twenty-five lots of Dior haute couture in this auction (Lots 46-70) represent the work of nearly every creative director at the House of Dior.This lot contains one item: taffeta coat. The black haute couture dress featured in these images is available in Lot 50.  Silk taffeta evening coat with long sleeves, wide cuffs, and oversized shawl collar.
