The scholar-officials amassed private collections of ancient works, and were particularly associated with the Four Accomplishments: painting, poetry, the game of strategy known as weiqi , and playing the zither ( qin ). Scholar’s objects were not solely functional objects, but also conveyed symbolic meaning. Small scholar’s rocks, jade figures, carved bamboo and miniature objects would inspire the scholars, whilst also exhibiting a sense of humour. 清 孔雀藍釉及紅釉小瓶一組兩件 THIS LOT IS TO BE OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE. 無底價
