Height: 19 in x width: 11 1/4 in x depth: 6 1/4 in.
A large and very rare hand painted composite figural advertising display of Josephine Baker in her legendary and scandalous banana skirt, ca. 1930s. The international sensation made its debut in the 1927 Follies Bergere show titled “Un Vent de Folie” and became Baker’s signature costume. Likely French in manufacture, this is an antique and original burlesque era surviving advertising document. Few were manufactured and even fewer have survived.Height: 19 in x width: 11 1/4 in x depth: 6 1/4 in. 品相报告: The sculpture is in generally good condition; no major losses, cracks, or dents. Throughout the piece, there is wear and there are spots that lost the original paint and repaired, particularly along the legs. Dust collected to the surface, particularly to the recessed area. There are minute red accretions to the left hand. Wear throughout the base; there are some paint losses along the edge.
