Carl Thieme Potschappel, Dresden, Germany. Pair of large porcelain urns, of globular form resting on a splayed circular foot. The handles are modeled as goat's heads in a similar style as the French Sevres "vase a tetes de bouc" design. The vases are hand painted throughout with blooming flowers surrounding two scenes of figures resting in a landscape. Gilded accents decorate the urns throughout. Applied flowers decorate the bases and pierced lids. Each with an early painted TX Thieme mark along the underside, used between 1888-1901.Each; Height: 26 1/2 in x width: 14 1/2 in x depth: 12 in. 品相报告: Urns are in generally fine condition with no major chips or losses that hinder the function of the urns. Both urns have wear throughout; there are losses to gilt throughout, particularly along the outcarved areas; loss to enamel throughout. One of the urns has heavy restoration to its neck and the rim; glue is visible; near its footrim, there is a hairline crack that is discolored dark; below it, there is another crack that measures 1 1/2 inch long. Its lid has losses to the edges of its petals; there is a network of black accretions underneath the leaves; each flower has a hairline crack that is 1 3/4 inch long; there is discoloration along the underside; there are losses to enamel throughout the lid. The other urn has a minute black accretion to a yellow dress; there is a minute loss along the lower rim; there is a 2 inches long hairline crack below the lower rim; there is another crack to the right of the aforementioned crack; below it, there are two parallel cracks, each measures 3/4 inch and 1/2 inch. Its lid has losses to the edges of its petals; there is a loss to the porcelain that measures 3/4 inch. Wear to the footrim and underside, consistent with their use and age.
