Attributed to Nicolaas Rijnenburg, Dutch 1716-c.1802- A pantry scene with a maid and boy weighing hazelnuts; oil on panel, dated 'Fec 1756.' (in the barrel lower right), with collector's stamp on the reverse, bears old typed label 'MIERIS -1735.' on the reverse, 33.4 x 26.6 cm. Provenance: Anon. sale, Christie's, New York, 30 January 2014, lot 248 (as by Frans van der Myn 1719-1783).; Anon. sale, Bonhams, London, 23 February 2016, lot 63 (£2,625). Note: The present work is listed on the RKD website (Netherlands Institute for Art History) under no.116839 and was attributed to Nicolaas Rijnenburg by Dr Fred Meijer. Working in Leiden in the 18th century, and clearly an artist of considerable merit, Rijnenburg was undoubtedly influenced by Frans van Mieris the Younger (1689-1763), and very much continued the tradition of the Leiden Fijnschilders. In this charming interior scene, the soft modelling of the figures and the attention to the different materials and textures attest to the painter's own artistic skills. The domestic setting gives the spectator an enjoyable insight into a typical Dutch family home with a charming detail present in the plate of 'olibollen', which are still eaten in the Netherlands today at New Year's Eve celebrations. 品相报告: Please refer to department for condition report
