PAIR OF MONUMENTAL EMPIRE GIRANDOLES. France. Date: 19th century. Technique: Gilt and burnished bronze. Marble. Description: Each on a square-shaped base with palmette frieze and centrally applied floral wreaths on all four sides. On top column shafts with Tuscan capitals. On each abacus a large sphere on grooved base, crowned by a crater vase. 6 candleholders circumferentially arranged on the sphere. The curved holders each with a rosette volute and in the front a leaf mascaron. Measurement: Height each 108,5cm.
