Bronze India , 19th century Dimensions: Height 38 cm Wide 17 cm Depth 13 cm Weight: 6258 grams The Hindu deity standing on a round base on top of a square expansive base with incised decorative pattern. Vishnu is four-armed, his right palm facing outside with fingers pointing down, gesture of dispensing of boons. The other palm is lowered and facing to the ground. The two other hands are raised in chest height forming mudras and holding the conch shell and drum. Wearing a high conical crown with lotus bud finial. Dressed in long striped dhoti fastened with broad belt with decorative pattern. The chest, legs and arms adorned with many chains, beaded necklaces. The back of the bronze is created with the same detail.
