Meiji era
Set with turquoise, coral, mother of pearl, and jet; with signature "Osaka and Takehisa" to the underside of phoenix-carved blanket laid across the back.
H: 10 3/4, W: 13 3/4, D: 5 in.
H: 27.31, W: 34.93, D: 12.7 cm.
Provenance: Private collection, Connecticut.
Condition: Wood splitting and missing piece on the back of head, broken off pieces on the hind and under the tail of foo, scattered missing inlaid stones; repair on the underside of tail; wood split to pedestal on top; splitting and repairs to underside; abrasions throughout commensurate with age.
