本品造型周正，作八棱形方斗状，左右对称，相对传统圆形杯，其成型及烧制难度也大幅度增加。通体施白釉，釉色莹润如玉。八面贴塑折枝花卉纹，杯内中心伫立一老者，长髯垂胸，笑容可掬，神态自然生动。整器精工细作，纹饰舒朗简洁，独具风格。公道杯源于明洪武年间，是汉族饮酒用瓷制品。此种酒杯盛酒时只能浅平，过满则杯中之酒便会因孔全部漏掉，一滴不剩，寓意“满招损，谦受益”的人生处世哲理。
