of circular flowerhead cluster design, seven circular hardstone intaglio plaques depicting classical heads in profile with the largest to the centre, each within a yellow rope twist frame, interspaced by shell motifs with similar rope twist decoration measures 4.1cm diameter The brooch is in fair condition commensurate with age, there are signs of lead solder to the reverse, a later brooch fittings and evidence of metal testing. It fastens with a pin and revolver catch and has a hook for use as a pendant. It bears no hallmark nor stamp but in our opinion would test as gold. The hardstones include amethyst, cornelian, nephrite, banded agate etc. Gross weight 12.8 grams. CR made 28.07.22.
