细节 SAITO TAKASHI (B.1943)UntitledSigned in blue ink Yuzen Takashi on lower left cornerInk (Conté crayon) on Japanese paper, framed47 1/4 x 31 1/2 in. (120 x 80 cm.)来源: Twisted, ghost-like, nightmare-like…these are the words that come to mind when observing Saito Takashi’s work. The extremely delicate lines and intense emotions on the paper enthrall one’s attention, as if the painting is an irrevocable spell. Born in 1943 in Tokyo, Japan, the autodidactic artist made his grand debut in the 1963 Yomiuri Independent Exhibition, followed by the Yamatane Museum of Art Award exhibition in 1975. From then on, Saito has built his fame as an independent artist who has no affiliation with any school, and continues to astonish Japanese audiences with solo and group exhibitions throughout the country. Sagawa Art Museum hosted a duet exhibition for him and Raku Kichizaemon XV in 2020, celebrating their shared interest of exploring the truth of life and humanity. Saito Takashi lives and works at Seishido Mountain Pass in Fukushima Prefecture.
