此件铜笔架五岳山形，采用二面浇铸，再合焊为一。铜质精炼如金，表锈深覆，呈蟹壳青色。正面作群山环抱，坡坎起伏，草木秋瑟，三位胡人猎骑，骑骏马奔腾而来。前者持三叉戟，正欲刺戳回首快奔之麋鹿。居中者已获一兔，猎犬飞驰追捕，再搭弓上弦，蓄势待发，另一兔双耳直竖，四足齐跃，惊憟回首。殿后者，臂立海东青，由山谷而出。远处藏躲逸之兽，皆惧恐不定；霎那间气氛充满紧张刺激的张力。背面作山崖海水，波涛涡旋汹涌，一巨鲤破浪而出。二面合璧，相互辉映亦彼此增彩。诚属笔山中精彩绝伦的制品，亦是刻划传神且韵味十足的文房精品。
