Two Pairs of Small Apple Green Crackle-glazed VasesChina, late Qing/Republic period, one pear-shape; the other rouleau-form, all with crackle-glazed interiors and bases, with stands, ht. to 5 1/2 in. Provenance: A family heirloom collection mostly formed in the 1900-20s by Dr. Frederick Whiting (1821-1946). Dr. Whiting was a philanthropic otologist/professor of Clinical Surgery in Otology at Cornell University who authored the book, Modern Mastoid Operation. He was also known as a collector of American painting, medallic art, and Asian porcelain.
