3rd-2nd millennium B.C. A bronze spearhead, the blade with a flat midrib and of rhomboid section, elongated tang of circular section, the tapering point absent. Cf. Gernez, G., Larmament en métal au Proche et Moyen-Orient: des origines a 1750 av. J.C., Paris, 2007, p.297 vol.I, subtype L2A.c (?), for the type. 237 grams, 37.5 cm (14 3/4 in.). Acquired 1980-2015. Ex Abelita family collection. The blade of these spears was quite wide at the base and tapered at the tip. It was often rounded, which suggests that the use was more focused on the sharp properties of the weapon.
