款识：癸未夏，写雨后溪声。耘石。
钤印：黄氏、耘石
黄耘石先生早年随叔祖黄克斋先生学画，及长又随于非闇先生学画。抗战中兴，他流落到重庆，入中央大学艺术系，受业于黄君璧门下。颇受其喜爱。黄耘石先生的艺术之路，颇为坎坷。抗战胜利后，他到了天津，与陈少梅合办美术学院，因经费困难，未果。此四副所绘，皆为蜀中风景。画虽小，然有寻丈之势。可谓笔精墨妙，意境拔尘。黄耘石先生不但精于绘画，其所作诗词亦极具功力。他主张“诗中有画，画中有诗”。他的画作中的题诗，绝大多数是自作。其曾言：在中大上学时，徐悲鸿教素描，陈之佛、谢稚柳教花鸟，黄君璧教山水，傅抱石教美术史论，乔大壮教诗词及篆刻。由此可见，先生的师承。先生每忆首前尘，皆令人陶醉。
