此件香薰为宫廷官造，选用精铜铸造，浑圆厚重，精细入微。整体作为一颗硕大的桃子形状，盖子字母口，上有“卍”镂空口，作为香薰使用。桃子寓意长寿，又与“卍”字纹结合，寓意吉祥，与佛、道两家有关，符合清代皇家用品纹饰佛教、道教相结合的特点。下作三乳足，并在三足底部各刻“乾”“清”“宫”款。 乾清宫是清代紫禁城内的一座宫殿，清代康熙以前沿袭明制，自雍正皇帝移住养心殿以后，这里即作为皇帝召见廷臣、批阅奏章处理日常政务、接见外藩属国陪臣和岁时受贺、举行宴筵的重要场所。一些日常办事机构，包括皇子读书的上书房，也都迁入乾清宫周围的庑房，乾清宫的使用功能大大增强。刻有乾清宫款器物多为乾清宫内的陈设器、实用器具。可见本品为清代宫廷之物。
