True to Botero's exaggeration of form to create a work of art centered on the volume and shape of mass, the limbs and parts of the angel's figure, are proportionally embellished, creating a certain tactility to the sculpture. The handmade bronze sculpture was cast using the ancient method of lost-wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish for preservation. Fernando Botero Angulo (born April 19, 1932) is a Colombian figurative artist, self-titled "the most Colombian of Colombian artists" early on.
