作者简介：王日升，字筠皆，又作芸堦，一字师竹。世勋孙。廪贡生。状貌魁梧，饮酒善文，尤工书法。杭州知府广善延为记室，学士梁同书方家居，见其笔札，大赏之，由是书名着一时。浙中守令先后聘入幕府。性和而介，与当道交，未尝干以私人。有以讼事关说，献苞苴者，必严斥之。居乡好义举，如修学校，葺书院，皆倡率以成其事。生平精赏鉴，所购法帖书画甚富，集前辈名人小楷刻石，藏于家，后捐教职，摄昌化训导，晚年德望益重，为蛟川耆硕之冠。
