Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Heroine Saint Bronze Statue. She was France`s national heroine and a saint to Catholics. Her story of triumph is both inspiring and tragic. Saint Joan of Arc or The Maid of Orléans was a peasant girl born in eastern France who claimed Divine guidance lit her path. Visions from God instructed her to recover her homeland from English domination during the Hundred Years` War. She led the French army to victory repeatedly during the war. Despite her connection to a higher power, she was captured and eventually burned at the stake when she was just nineteen- years old. This moving sculpture depicts Joan with her helmet and sword resting at her feet as she prays. She shuts her eyes and clasps her hands in front of her chest. Her face turns peaceful as she listens to the divine words that are whispered into her ear. She is fully dressed in her armor, prepared to lead the battle. She is a brown patina and 100% bronze. This sculpture was cast using the " Lost Wax Method" and mounted on a black marble base and is signed M. Mercie. Dimensions: 16" x 6"; Approx 10lbs View Photos for Further Details.
