|童子白玉质，作立姿，其头梳童子双髻，身着长衫长裤，双腿并立，足登锦履，左臂拢于腰间，右臂高抬，右手五指张开，面带笑意，和蔼可亲。在我国古代，人口生存能力极为有限，但童子作为新生命的象征，一直受到人们的极为关注，故而每当一个生命在诞生之初，就成为人们相互庆贺之时。另外，莲花、莲藕也因再生能力极强，加之莲藕造型和色泽都与童子上下肢极为接近，故而也常被人们视为新生和再生的象征。在我国宋代玉器中，就不乏有众多的童子持荷玉作。此件玉雕童子左手空洞，当为另插莲荷所用。可见用意颇深。不可失察。|1993年，香港苏富比拍品。
