駱駝為雙峰駝，兩目圓睜，張嘴嘶鳴，直立於托板之上。通身施釉，頭、頸、腿部為褐黃相間，雙峰與韉則施綠、褐、黃三色釉。彩釉施釉勻凈無瑕疵，配色自然，清麗而不浮華。 由長安通向西域的絲綢之路是中國對外貿易的重要交通紐帶，具有「沙漠之舟」美譽的駱駝既是往來商客的坐騎，又是商品物資的運載工具。三彩駱駝引頸張口，四肢作行走狀，生動地再現了絲綢之路上駝隊不畏艱險、長途跋涉的真實景況。此駱駝形體高大，神情刻畫準確，釉色明亮，堪稱唐代大型動物雕塑的佳品。
