笔筒以黄花梨木芯材整挖而成，平口直身，口底相若，内堂掏挖干净，底为一块玉。内外壁均不事雕琢，木色金黄，更彰显黄花梨木特有的“狸斑”、“鬼脸”等肌理之美，麦穗纹明显。整器质地莹润，包浆丰厚，体线优美，富有张力。因长期摩挲把玩，包浆古朴温润，置于案头，雅韵盎然。
