此笔筒形制秀巧，外壁以薄意技法浅浮雕一株白菜于山石之侧，菜叶舒卷有致，边缘轮廓清晰，表层微凸，与菜心部分的内凹形成对比，加强了纹饰的立体感和表现力，白菜根部衬以小草山石，刻工熟练流畅，细微之处刀法有度，极见功力。白菜素有“青白高雅，凌冬不凋，四时常见，有松之操”的美誉，将白菜雕琢于文房笔筒之上，体现了古代文人雅士对高洁品行的追求。来源：2009年5月27日，香港佳士得， Lot.1976
