A Chinese ge ground famille verte jar with a matching lid dating from the late 19th century. The body is decorated with chickens in a garden scene with a dragonfly, and the lid features flowers and a butterfly. There are geometric bands around the shoulder and foot of the jar. Dimensions are: 13 1/2 inches tall X 9 inches wide, 34.3 cm X 22.9 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is a repair to the rim of the lid as well as a chip. There is a crack to the rim of the jar. Glaze popping to both the jar and lid. A reminder that all lots are sold as-is.
