香囊是佩戴在身上以预防疾病的传统民间艺品，装入芳香具药性的中草药细末，不同中草药组成不同药方，多以芳香辟秽、祛邪解毒、预防感冒、安神定志、芳香醒脾为主。
黄杨木生长缓慢，故古语有云：「千年难长黄杨木。」由于质地坚韧光洁，纹理细密，色黄如象牙年久色深，古雅美观，是小型圆雕的上佳材料。
此黄杨木香囊外围刻回纹，将布料皱折处表现地十分细腻，通件立体饱满却不失香囊布料的柔软感，十分灵动且适合配戴。
