Smith Blanchard; Surrealist Group of Jungle Animals, probably acrylic painting on canvas on stretcher signed "Blanchard" by the artist lower right, late 20th Century. NOTE: Smith Blanchard was born on August 19, 1952, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, the son of the late Haitian artist Sisson Blanchard, he worked as a yard-boy at Le Centre d'Art in Port-au-Prince. His father encouraged him to paint and helped him develop his unique style. Blanchard is renowned for his lush Animal filled landscapes. He moved to the US in the 1980s. Blanchard has also exhibited in France and the US. Height 30 inches (76 cm.) X width 39 3/4 inches (101 cm.).
