A CHINESE HARD-STONE INLAID LACQUER SMALL CHEST in the manner of Zhou Zhu. The front inlaid with two birds and a butterfly amongst rocks, flowers and fruits enriched with mother-of-pearl, baitong lock plate and hasps and side carrying handles, the lid with flowers blossoming from rocks, fruits to the remaining side panels, with (later?) strengthening bands and angles, late Ming/early Qing dynasty, 42cm wide x 21cm high x 24cm deep.
