款识：请如尧兄雅存，翁同龢。 钤印：同龢私印 释文：井蛙不可语海，拘于虚也；夏虫不可语冰，笃于时也。前此失学之子平，时詹詹为以数子衣食，为经济而别有所谓，入世之枕中秘。更始以来，及皇然失却，所凭籍浮沉于过渡之潮流中，视被晏然告成功者则以为得天独厚 。作者简介：翁同龢（1830-1904），字叔平，号松禅，别署均斋、瓶笙、瓶庐居士、并眉居士等，别号天放闲人，晚号瓶庵居士，江苏常熟人，中国近代史上著名政治家、书法艺术家。咸丰六年（1856年）状元，历任户部、工部尚书、军机大臣兼总理各国事务衙门大臣。先后担任清同治、光绪两代帝师。卒后追谥文恭。翁同龢工诗，间作画，尤以书法名世，结体宽博开张，笔画刚劲有力，风格苍浑遒劲，朴茂雍容。著有《翁文恭公日记》《瓶庐诗文稿》等。
