钤印：边氏文进、陇西边氏 边景昭，字文进，祖籍陇西（今属甘肃）人，永乐间任武英殿待诏，宣德时仍供奉内庭。继承南宋“院体”工笔重彩画，所作笔法细谨，赋色清丽，尤擅雪梅寒禽，竹鹤图等。此幅所作上部雪梅怒放，树枝勾勒交错有序，几只飞禽或回头凝视，或低头疏羽，或张翅飞行，姿态均生动活泼；中部画山石茶花，山石重墨勾勒，淡墨熏染，与文进其他传世作品画法相同。茶花树叶用细笔勾勒，曲尽其态。下部工笔绘两只鸳鸯，一昂首向天，一半闭目回首，羽分五色，形态生动。整幅构图上下呼应，静中有动，是其代笔作。右上角铃印“边氏文进”、“陇西边氏”，在边文进其他传世作品亦可常见。边氏作品传世绝少，此幅作品当为有识者重之！
