AN EXTREMELY RARE 18TH CENTURY CHINESE APPLE GREEN DOUBLE GOURD VASE Qianlong mark and period, enamelled with scrolling gilt foliage and bold floral sprays. 23 cm x 11 cm. Provenance: A Gentleman's Country Estate, acquired from Mr and Mrs R Lusher who ran a successful construction business in Hong Kong, eventually selling to the Jebsen group for $800 Million. Robert Lusher was a collector of Fine English furniture and Chinese works of art, the vase has been in country estate for at least 30 years, its believed the vase either acquired on a business trip to China, however Mr Lusher also was buying from Christies and Sothebys in the 1980s on wards. See a similar vase decorated with dragons in the Shanghai museum, also see a vase sold in these rooms May 2021 for £110,000.
