题识：十力老弟，欧阳渐。 钤印：竟无居士 释文：自在。 上款人为熊十力（1885-1968），原名开恒，字子真，湖北黄冈人。中国当代哲学杰出人物，早年参加辛亥革命，曾任黄冈军政府参谋，参与孙中山领导的护法运动。后任南京支那内学院，师从欧阳竟无学佛。1922年受蔡元培聘至北京大学讲授佛教唯识学。抗日战争爆发后，入四川任复兴书院、勉仁书院主讲。欧阳渐（1871-1943），字竟无，江西宜黄人。近代著名佛学居士，一生埋首佛典，专注佛法研究、佛典整理、佛教教育，为中国近代佛学的振兴与发展，作出了重要的贡献。
