A set of two Quanyi or horseshoe chairs and incense stand or side table fangxiangji all constructed of Zitan wood. Each chair has a U-shaped three section circular crest rail that extends to the circular armrests with protruding out scrolled hand grips. Backsplat has relief carved 'ruyi' form medallion depicting two intricate lively carved chi-dragons intertwined . The seat is mitred, mortised, and tenon recessed fitted. The front edge features a carved scrollwork apron. The arms pass directly through the seat to become the front legs. Base has squared inner corners, with front foot rest, and squared stretchers. Incense stand or fangxiangji square surface with molded edge over recessed waist with square legs molded outer edge square stretcher. The zitan wood has a dense grain structure with a deep purple and black tone.
