A pair of Chinese semi-eggshell porcelain bowls, Republic period, each painted with a large chrysanthemums spray below a band of ruyi-heads encircling the mouth rim, the base with an apocryphal Yongzheng mark, 13 cm diameter Provenance: Previously in the collection of the former Assistant Commissioner of the Shanghai Municipal Police (1919-1928), who returned to England shortly after the Second World War, and thence by descent. 品相報告 Condition Report: One of the bowls with a hairline emanating from the rim.
