An unusual Chinese blue and white wine cup, 17-18th century, with brown glazed rim, the exterior decorated with vines and bamboo, with brown line rim, six-character Chenghua mark in double rectangle to the base, 8cm diameter Provenance: Purchased by the late J.B. da Silva (1918-2003) at Christie's, 9th November, 1959, Lot 75, for 6 guineas (noted in the Christies catalogue sold from the collection of Mrs John Rennie Manderson of Devon) and by family descent. No receipt but itemised in collection notes.
