A George III diamond lyre brooch, circa 1770, the table cut diamonds in closed back pinched collet silver settings, with textured gold strings and back, later brooch fitting, 3.8cm long, 6.9g gross Condition Report: One of the diamonds is missing to the base, and another has been lead soldered into the setting, it may have been soldered in upside down, or replaced. Some discolouration to the foiling behind the stones as typical of pieces of this age , although the diamonds appear to have a varying yellow tint. The brooch fitting and clasp are later added, there is a small amount of lead to the top of the lyre where something has been removed, however it is not very obvious. Condition Report Disclaimer
