此胭脂紅釉描金開光粉彩麒麟送子圖八方水仙盆，腹部四側開光，分繪孩童燃爆竹、觀鵪鶉、麒麟送子的圖景，熱烈喜慶氣氛一覽無餘。 該器端莊大氣，技藝卓絕，取八方之形，承青銅古韻，集青釉、浮雕、粉彩、胭脂紅、描金等高低溫釉彩及釉上釉下裝飾融於一身，完美詮釋乾隆瓷藝之爐火純青。晚清民窯中最豔麗的顏色，故而深受人們的喜愛。舊時不孝有三，無後為大，麒麟送子圖，正是中國民間祈福求子的內心反應。古人認為麒麟為仁義瑞獸吉象，積德人家，求拜麒麟可得子。
