Tibet, 18th to 19th century. A collection of four cult bronzes, depicting Buddha as the Grand Master, the goddess Guanyin as well as the Green Tara. Syamatara is the "Green Tara", in contrast to the "White Tara". The central character-istic here is the foot she has placed on a small, separate lotus pedestal. The hand held lower offers the gesture of "wish fulfillment", the varadamudra. To the sides of the shoulders are lotus blossoms; on her head is the five-pointed crown of a trans-cendent bodhisattva.
