PROVENANCE: Stanley G Martin (1938-2019) of Marietta, GA . Stan attended High school in Albany, graduated from the University of Georgia and then entered the navy for 3 years. They moved to Atlanta where Stan worked for 35 years in Market Research International Accounts. Mr. Martin traveled extensively often taking his family with him to visit and learn about foreign countries. Finding treasures and antiques from around the world was a benefit and a passion for his family. In his retirement years he enjoyed restoring antiques as well as early model automobiles back to their original condition. The Porcelain potted in Chinese traditional YuHuChun shape vessel, the pear shaped bottle vase, slight ovoid body, a bottom-heavy body tapered gracefully to slender waisted neck, with wide flaring mouth rim, supported on short small foot base, slight concave. The exterior decorated with hand-painting in clean white under glazed base color which contrast against the red and blue fine color, depicted of snarling huge imperial five claws dragon careening through lotus flowers blooms, scrolling interlocking tendril and arrays of tropical leaves patterns. Red is the most important variety of China’s porcelain. The red color of the packet symbolizes good luck, corresponding with fire, symbolizes good fortune and joy.
