题识：一、竹铭方伯大人钧鉴，癸巳夏日居廉。钤印：古泉二、竹铭方伯大人诲正，古皖郑珊时年八十有一。钤印：雪湖说明：上款人竹铭或为曹鸿勋（1846-1910），字仲铭，又字竹铭，山东潍坊人。光绪丙子状元，历任修撰、湖南学政提督、云南永昌知府，调云南府，授迤东道，官至陕西巡抚。居廉（1828-1904），字士刚，号古泉、隔山樵子、罗湖散人，广东番禺人。善画花鸟、草虫及人物，尤以写生见长，在继承和发展恽寿平没骨画法基础上，创撞水和撞粉法，是岭南画派奠基人之一。郑珊（1810-1897），安徽怀宁人，字雪湖，号埜桥，工山水，同治间寓沪鬻画，又应黄昌甫邀，与何绍基于黄氏盐法道署扬榷书画。
